The Village Fete

On Friday me and my good friend, Miss Rosie, went down to London to the Friday Late Village fete at the V&A. We had gone down the year before on a whim and absoloutly loved it so we decided to go again and it diddnt dissapoint!
The basic idea of the event is a village fete but with wierd creative games and amazing prizes - like 'Breast or Dome', where you feel some jelly and have to identify if it is in fact a jelly breast or a jelly dome (which i failed, i swear the dome had nipples)
More Information can be found out about the village fete at www.vam.ac.uk/fridaylate

Last year I won some Tatty devine stuff and a hot dog bag from garudio studio and this year I won a signed Rob Ryan print in a scratchy game ran by his daughter which is soon going up framed on my wall as i do love his work...

I bought a bespoke lady luck rules rosette necklace (tee from uniqlo)...

And got a sexy aubergine tattoo from the jess and james stall (im washing around it to make it last!)

But my super favourite was the tatty ring that was specially made for the village fete...it just showed my complete inability to play hoopla as after about 7 goes between me and rosie rosie FINALLY managed to win one and the lovely ladies at the tatty stall said I could have one too - THANK YOU!

I also managed to buy a CSS vinyl on super limited funds (i do love Donkey!) and those are some badges i won - The penny one with the rob ryan print and the loser badge for loosing the spinning thing on the lady luck stall

True Romance

Yesterday I went to our local IKEA to stock up on living stuff (ice cream scoop! 30p! - Chopsticks! 50p!! - mugs! 50p!) for London. In true IKEA style i've got everything I need, and some i dont really need, in uber bright colours for super cheap. My favourite items are the green pasta server things which look like venus fly traps and the knobbly chopsticks :D

Also bought and watched True Romance which is sooo deliciously 90s

I'd heard it was good so when I saw it selling for 3 quid I snapped it up but wasn't sure exactly what I was expecting - but i love it! even though i'm not oooverly keen on gun-y films, but I can forgive them by the use of those amazing pink leggings! haha! I have jeans sort of like that that I havn't worn for a while but leggings are rather superior////(the picture was taken last year)

I still really want one of those leopard print coats even though theyve become a bit cliche-d recently, but ahh well...

Holiday Dumdeedum

Ahh the inevitable holiday 'everyones away or busy' days have arrived... I feel like a bored cooking mama as i've been cooking every day ( including the yummy green tea shortbread pictured below - you can get the recipie at : http://www.lovescool.com/archives/2007/05/15/best-bakery-recipe-finalist/, except i just used ordinary green tea instead of matcha green tea and it does NOT turn out as green as the picture unfortunatly) and reading and watching excessive amounts of Bewitched. Again. Last time I did that I got into the habit of saying "oh darling!" and "oh my stars!" and twitching my nose hoping that something exciting would happen, but alas! Samantha does have amazing false lashes I would enjoy owning though...

Anyway i'm just showing the stuff i've spent all my birthday money on (who knew £160 could go that quickly :S) such as these amazing docs that ive been wanting to buy but have been lacking the funds for ages, huzzah for bithday fairys :D These have already cut up my feet but i think that was partially my own fault, running for a train in London. ouchhhh

mmmmm so white...so shiny...
When I went down to London I also bought this Upper Fifth Cardi at Topshop for a tenner!! The picture doesn't really show its shiny gold-sexyness though. The bow is so cute! Bought another Upper fifth cardi a while back at the clothes show...but then i saw it later in the mens collection at topman and was like "oh..." hahah!

Also bought these acid wash jeans at American Apparel - I couldnt believe it, they don't actually make jeans in a larger size than a 10...insane, especially as the average woman is what like a 14? who knows....

A few days ago I had my 1920s themed Birthday party!

Where I forced some friends to dress up and act all prim and proper...

balloons can drive anyone to madness...

Photobucket

I had a yummy choccy cake with a dark chocolate grenache and strawberries on top ( as found in Nigella Lawson book - she adds that bit of pzazz and sex appeal obviously)

Photobucket

lovely!

Photobucket

Thats all of us there...I bought my dress at a concession at Topshop called like chichi or something (seem to have something about navy blue dresses at the moment, the last 3 ive bought have been navy)

hoorah, onwards and upwards as a mature 18 year old student (haa)

Birthday

Photobucket

My 18th Birthday was actually a few days ago but this is the only time ive actually had to sit down and sort out my pictures and have some proper time to myself - ive been so busy, going down to london, birmingham and generally just hanging around with friends. I feel so old now! I can't believe im actually going to be moving away mid September and starting uni in London...anyway!

I recieved many a good present...from necklaces to aprons and one of my favourites:

Photobucket

a Spongebob ukelele! And also wing windbreakers!

Photobucket

Which I think I will be using as wonderwoman-esque wing bracelets...

But maybe the best prezzie of the day was seeing my friend Katie who lives in NZ and who I hadn't seen for a whole two years...
Photobucket

I diddn't really do much on the day except for seeing good friends and the boyf but it was really great anyway...
