By the Beard of Rosie!

Tomorrow is the day of the big move down to London! Am both most excited and most pooing my pants but hopefully everything should go smoothly!

As a leaving present Rosie and I swapped our uni gnomes which we had bought each other for a pound at the pound shop (heres mine, hes called Rosie)

and here is Rosie with her gnome, Juli....

I hope we shall have very nice times together :D

Am just about to leave to go to a leaving dinner at Ask with some more friends so I shall leave you with a few words of wisdom uttered on a Murder She Wrote set in Russia...

"I think you have the look of somone who has caught the canary i the cookie tin!"

Finally!

Finally! will do last Reading post!
Rightyho!

XX Teens - First in the tent for these! Had wanted to see them for ages, but were more 'rocky' than ' crazy', not a bad thing but a little different from expected. Plus i kept thinking the singer looked like Ob from Hollyoaks!

Also saw the Death Set in the lavely dance tent, followed by...

Robots in Disguise - Glitter ball spaceship = genius! Lots of booshy fans expecting a glimse of a noel...

The Whip - Even better than last time I saw them; shame that I was eating my lunch when they were on so floor dancing was necessary

Holy Fuck - Wasnt sure what to expect but loved it all the same!

To the Festival Republic stage to hear the cute tunes of Emmy the Great and the bloody awful whatever they call music of The Rascals...bleugh he looks like a troll...
Cage the Elephant - AMAZING! the minute he came on naked except for a tutu with red paint all over him I knew it would be good haha! Ended up getting the red stuff on my jumper and face cus he gave me a crowd hug and a kiss...which was nice :D Will deffinantly be seeing them again!

Then off to the Dance tent on my noddy to try and get to the front for CSS (huzzah!)

Whilst I was there I saw Digitalism and Simian Mobile Disco...

and finally...
CSS! - Amazing! Lots and lots of confetti, yellow facepaint and balloons! cant wait to see them again sooon

Only 6 more sleeps till the big move...

Slow Club and others

Need to finish reviewing Reading at some point! but first whilst frantically trying to mend my sodoku (or metroku ha ha) I shall tell of slow club...

went down to London to enrole on the 2nd (hurrah the promise of i-d cards!) with my boyfriend and we took the opportunity to go see Slow Club playing at Pure Groove. They were really amazing and cute and Rebecca had my dress! Also wierdly met Jeremy Warmsley who was in his words "mooching around" haha!

Photobucket

They were nice enough to sign my ep...arent they lovely haha!

also shown is my new tatty brooch! it is part of their new collection (which is A-mazing!) and makes more sense when worn in a zip like fashion. My boyfriend got the huge paperclip necklace but im sure i shall be investing a lot more dosh into that new collection!

About a week ago I also went to see Crystal Castles - we got there much too late so I had to sit on a post to see which wasnt the most comfy...unfortunatly they did a really short set and seemed really angry to be there...ahh well

Photobucket

Here is my new vintage (well...2nd hand :P ) mirror from the snoopers paradise in Brighton! finally up!! Its so beautiful I feel so sad to be leaving it! it's also super heavy so I hope it doesnt break my wall!
Im also wearing my little army hat I got from this military stand at Reading Festival, it folded up well into my bumbag!

mirror mirror on the wall...

More More Reading

I forgot to mention Ida Maria from friday! so here we go:

Ida Maria: lovely husky voice and nice tophat - however I wish she had worn a bra!! a very close nipple call!

Next onto sat from Reading festival...

Bombay Bicycle Club: I still can't believe that they're my age its insane that theyre so good, the dancing panda was appreciated!

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong: skinny skinny skinny but nice dancing/prancing

The Subways: sort of prefer their first album, was having lunch through their set anyway.

Mystery Jets: I love them anyway but we diddnt manage to get to the front and the amount of people there was phenomenal and I couldnt really see anything, but their playing was brill.

Los Campesinos: Got really confused thinking I was listning to White Lies for a while yet recognising the songs...silly me! Especially as I have their album :S was too far back to see but great set to dance to anyway!

Louis XIV: Have been wanting to see Louis XIV since I was about 15 and they diddnt dissapoint! Boogilicious sex rock hehehe

Black Kids: We were outside for these but were really good anyway!

Also saw Raconteurs, Bloc Party and the Killers

Last night i went to see Crystal Castles with my boyf, but they seemed really angry for some reason....or really drunk....and did a really short set but ahh well

Reading Festival

I actually returned on monday but have been busy since then - Reading was amazing but a bit scary on the last day with a delightful apocoliptic feel as people burned tents and danced insanely on the toilets! (or should i say excrement troughs? I think that description would be much more fitting!)

I will do a little review of the bands I saw (photos provided by www.bbc.co.uk/bbc3 or from flickr) on friday:

Future of the Left: possibly provided the best lyrics of the day with "SAUUUSSAGE ON A STIIIIIICCKKKKKK"

Pete and the Pirates: Angular and to the point, just playing no talking, wham bam thank you mam - but more pirate-y

Blood Red Shoes: Amazing as always! gorgeous as always! check check check!!! (preeettyy dreeess)

Be Your Own Pet: wellll....I think they'd given up by this point! Drunk/ stoned/who knows, but from Adventure onwards they were good - but oh my goodness I wish i suited those jeans!

Caught the end of Florence and the Machine, Esser.... then
Friendly Fires: Probably the best show of the whole event! Brazilian dancers + Brazilian drummers + confetti + pretty friendly fires man = amazing!

The Teenagers: Surpisingly much better than I thought live! Would deffinantly re-see. Poor singer fell of an amp onto his bum though, looked very very painful!

Late of the Pier: Last time I saw them was in a tiny tiny Bar Academy venue in Birmingham so I was rather surprised when this gig was incredibly painful! They were in their pijamas. Their emails give me joy and this one is my favourite pierling...

Rage against the Machine: Was an amazing experience to see these, even if just from afar! Very very political!
Will upload Saturday and Sunday once I have gathered more pictures! like a squirrel...or a stamp collector.

best things about brighton:

3. the arcades on the pier! ahh the profits made then gambled away again on the 2p machine

4. they have american apparel!
5. reminds me of quadraphenia!

bad things about brighton:

1. its bloody windy and the shingle hurts!

apart from that its all good....

Off to Reading festival tomorrow!! My first overnight festival and first time camping! Im just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping my stuff doesnt get nicked!

its amazing how for weeks you do nothing (or very little) and then suddenly everything happens at once

over and out!
